Water rushes over the rocks of the River Dane at Three Shires Head, framed by the old packhorse bridge and the rugged banks of the Peak District. The low viewpoint brings the movement of the stream into the foreground, with the bridge providing a strong link to the history of this well-known walking landscape. Clear water, weathered stone and open moorland give the photograph a sense of energy and place.
