The weathered timbers of the Helvetia rise from the sands of Rhossili Beach, their green seaweed-covered ribs creating a striking foreground against the wide sweep of the Gower coastline. The shipwreck, exposed by the tide, gives this peaceful South Wales landscape a strong sense of history and place. Late-summer light picks out the textures of the wood, sand and surrounding hills.
